If your campaign has to start and finish on one named date, there is exactly one outdoor format on The Mediaverse rate cards you can actually book for it. The mobile van page publishes a minimum booking of 1 day per van. Auto hood branding starts at 300 autos, auto back panels at 500, no-parking boards at 1,000 and newspaper insertion at 50,000 copies. Those are not soft guidelines, they are the quantities the published rate cards price from, and none of them can be cut down to fit a Saturday.
That single difference decides more one-day campaigns than budget does. A brand with Rs.2,00,000 to spend on a launch weekend cannot buy 300 branded autos for two days, because hood branding is not sold by the day at all. It can buy a van for the weekend for under Rs.20,000 in most cities. This post sets out what each format's real minimum is, what a single van day costs city by city, how fast each format can be on the street, and where a one-day van is the wrong call.
Which outdoor formats can you actually book for a single day?
The honest answer is one: the mobile van. The national mobile van page lists Minimum Booking as 1 day per van, and the Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Lucknow city pages repeat it in their own words. Every other format on the site is priced per unit, and the rate card starts at a quantity. The table below is the smallest order each format publishes, at the published entry rate, before 18 percent GST.
The smallest order each outdoor format publishes, before 18 percent GST
| Smallest bookable order | Entry cost at the published rate | The minimum is measured in | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile van branding | 1 van for 1 day | Rs.2,200 (Kolkata T-Shape) to Rs.9,500 (Delhi LED truck) | Time |
| No-parking board advertising | 1,000 boards | Rs.45,000 at Rs.45 per board, all-inclusive | Units |
| Newspaper insertion | 50,000 copies | Rs.62,500 for A5 at Rs.1.25, Rs.85,000 for A4 at Rs.1.70 | Units |
| Auto back panel branding | 500 autos | Rs.85,000 for the 24x6 sticker at Rs.170 per auto | Units |
| Auto hood branding | 300 autos | Rs.1,95,000 at Rs.650 per auto, one-time | Units |
| Shop name board | 1 board | Rs.690 per sq ft for a non-illuminated ACP board | Area, and it is a fixture rather than a campaign |
Read the last column carefully, because it is the part buyers miss. Only the van measures its minimum in time. Everything else measures it in units, and those units do not stop working when your event does. That is a feature for a quarter-long campaign and a problem for a one-day one.
What does one day of mobile van branding actually cost?
It depends on the city more than on the format, and it depends on whether that city's card charges fabrication separately. Four of the ten city cards, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi, publish a day rate with fabrication, permits, GPS tracking and the daily photo report already inside it. The Chennai page says so explicitly: the rate includes creative design, Corporation permits, marine-grade fabrication, GPS tracking and a daily photo report. In those four cities a one-day booking really does cost one day.
Kolkata T-Shape centre board
The cheapest single day of outdoor advertising on any of our published cards. The Kolkata card runs Rs.2,200 for a T-Shape, Rs.2,800 for an L-Shape and Rs.7,000 for an LED truck, with no separate fabrication line. A 25 percent premium applies on Puja routes between 1 and 15 October.
Chennai T-Shape centre board
Chennai publishes Rs.2,500, Rs.3,000 and Rs.8,000 for T-Shape, L-Shape and LED, and states that the rate already includes creative design, Corporation permits, marine-grade fabrication, GPS tracking and a daily photo report.
Bangalore or Delhi T-Shape
Both cities publish T-Shape at Rs.3,000 and L-Shape at Rs.3,500 with fabrication inside the rate. The LED line is where they part: Rs.9,000 in Bangalore and Rs.9,500 in Delhi, the highest single-day figure on any card we publish.
Pune L-Shape box van, one day
The other six cards price fabrication separately: Rs.8,000 for a T-Shape, Rs.20,000 for an L-Shape, Rs.10,000 for an LED truck, paid once whether the van runs a day or a month. On a single-day booking that build charge is most of the bill, which is why we steer one-day buyers in those cities to the T-Shape at Rs.11,000.
The other six cards, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, publish a one-time fabrication charge on top: Rs.8,000 for a T-Shape, Rs.20,000 for an L-Shape and Rs.10,000 for an LED truck. That charge is paid once per van whether the van runs for one day or thirty, so on a single-day booking it is the whole bill. A one-day L-Shape in Pune is Rs.20,000 plus Rs.3,500, that is Rs.23,500 before GST, against Rs.2,800 for the same body style in Kolkata. If you want the full city-by-city reading of why those cards differ, we published it separately.
One more thing a one-day buyer should know: the discounted slab is a 10-day slab. Book 10 days or more and the day rates fall to Rs.2,700 for a T-Shape, Rs.3,000 for an L-Shape and Rs.7,000 for an LED truck. A one-day booking pays the full rate by definition. There is no one-day premium anywhere on the published cards, but there is no one-day discount either.
How fast can each format be on the street?
Minimum quantity is one constraint. Lead time is the other, and for a dated event it is usually the binding one. The van page promises deployment within 48 hours of artwork approval in every city. Auto hood branding publishes 3 to 5 working days for design approval, printing and installation, with an express option at 48 hours with photo proof. Newspaper insertion publishes 5 to 10 working days, and notes that Times of India requires 7 days minimum while regional papers may accept 5-day notice.
Published lead time and what is left on the street afterwards
| Published lead time | What happens when the campaign stops | |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile van branding | 48 hours from artwork approval, in every city | Nothing. The van is hired, so the spend ends with the day |
| Auto hood branding | 3 to 5 working days, or 48 hours on the express path with photo proof | The hood keeps running 6 to 12 months on UV-resistant vinyl at no further cost |
| Auto back panel branding | Not separately published, ask for a written date | The sticker typically stays intact 4 to 6 months, less than a hood because the panel takes more handling |
| No-parking board advertising | Design and printing in a few days, then phased installation. No fixed number of days is published | The boards stay on the gates they were installed on |
| Newspaper insertion | 5 to 10 working days. Times of India asks for 7 days, regional papers may accept 5 | The insert is read on the morning it lands and then it is over |
So an insert booked on a Thursday cannot land on Saturday, no matter what you are willing to pay. A hood campaign can, on the express path, but only at the 300-auto quantity and the Rs.1,95,000 that goes with it. A van can be on the road on Saturday from a Thursday approval in every city we publish.
What are you left with after the campaign stops?
This is the column that should decide the buy, and almost nobody asks it. A van is hired. When the day ends the van goes back, the branding goes with it, and you own nothing. Every other format on our rate cards is a one-time purchase that keeps working after you have stopped paying attention to it.
An auto hood cover typically runs 6 to 12 months in Indian conditions on UV-resistant, waterproof vinyl, and six months is the figure we tell clients to plan a campaign around. A back panel sticker typically stays intact 4 to 6 months, less than a hood because the rear panel takes more knocks, washing and handling. Neither figure is a guaranteed service life. No-parking boards are installed on gates and stay there. A shop name board is a fixture. A newspaper insert is read once, on the morning it lands, and then it is over.
Put the two facts side by side and the arithmetic gets uncomfortable for the van. Rs.1,95,000 on 300 hoods is one payment for roughly six months of street presence, which is about Rs.32,500 a month of effective cost and falling if the vinyl lasts longer. Rs.1,95,000 spent on a Kolkata T-Shape van at Rs.2,200 a day buys 88 van days, and on the 89th day there is nothing on the street. Both are defensible purchases. They are not the same purchase.
When is a one-day van the right call?
Four situations, and they share a shape: the date is fixed, the audience is concentrated, and there is nothing to sustain afterwards.
- A dated event. An exhibition, a trade fair, a college fest, a store opening or a match day, where the audience exists on one day and not on the next.
- A route you can name. A van is bought by corridor, so a one-day booking only pays when you can write the route down: a pandal circuit, a ring road loop, a campus to station run.
- A launch weekend that a longer format is also covering. The van creates the spike, the hoods or boards you already installed carry the weeks after it.
- A test before committing. Rs.2,200 to Rs.9,500 is the cheapest way to see your creative at street scale before you sign off on 300 hoods at Rs.1,95,000.
When is a one-day van the wrong call?
Three situations, stated plainly, because we would rather lose the booking than run a campaign that cannot work.
- When the city card charges fabrication. Paying Rs.20,000 to build an L-Shape you will use for one day in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow or Ahmedabad is buying an asset you hand back. Book a T-Shape at Rs.8,000 fabrication, or book more days.
- When you need frequency, not reach. Recall is built by the same person seeing the same message repeatedly. One day gives one exposure per person on that route. That is what auto hoods, back panels and no-parking boards are for, and their minimums exist because that is the quantity at which saturation starts to work.
- When the date is not actually fixed. If the campaign could run any week this month, a 10-day booking costs Rs.2,700 a day instead of Rs.3,000 and spreads any fabrication charge across ten days instead of one.
What the rate cards do not publish
Three gaps worth naming rather than filling with a guess. First, the national van page carries a 1-day minimum in its spec table and, in one FAQ, the separate observation that most campaigns run for a minimum of 7 days. Those are not in conflict, one is the rule and one is the pattern, but if a salesperson quotes you a 7-day minimum, the published minimum is 1 day and you can ask for it.
Second, no-parking boards, auto back panels and shop name boards publish no installation lead time in days. The board page says design and printing take a few days followed by phased installation, which is honest but not a date you can plan an event around. Ask for a written date before you commit. Third, we publish no recall, footfall or response benchmarks for a one-day van, because we do not have data we would stand behind. Anyone quoting you an impression figure for a single day is quoting a model, not a measurement.
Our verdict: is a one-day booking ever worth it?
Yes, in four cities and for one job. If your event is in Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore or Delhi, a one-day T-Shape van at Rs.2,200 to Rs.3,000 is the cheapest dated outdoor presence money can buy in India, and the day rate is the whole bill. If your event is in one of the six cities that charge fabrication, book a T-Shape rather than an L-Shape, because Rs.8,000 of build cost on a one-day booking hurts and Rs.20,000 is hard to defend.
If the date is not truly fixed, do not buy a day. Buy ten, take the Rs.2,700 slab, and let the fabrication spread. And if what you actually want is for people to keep seeing you next month, the van is the wrong format at any duration. Tell us the date and the corridor and we will tell you which of the two you are really buying.
Your one-day campaign checklist
- Is the date genuinely fixed, or could this run for ten days instead at Rs.2,700 a day?
- Which city card applies, and does it charge fabrication separately on top of the day rate?
- Can you write the route down as named roads or a named circuit?
- Is artwork approved at least 48 hours before the date?
- Have you asked for the 1-day minimum in writing if the quote assumes 7 days?
- Does anything carry the message after the day ends, or does the spend stop with the van?
- Have you added 18 percent GST to the day rate and to any fabrication charge?
Frequently asked questions about one-day outdoor campaigns
Is there a minimum number of days for mobile van branding?
One day per van, as published in the specification table on our national mobile van page and repeated on the Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad and Lucknow city pages. One FAQ on the national page separately observes that most campaigns run for a minimum of seven days, which describes what clients typically book rather than a rule. If a quotation assumes a seven-day floor, the published minimum is one day and you can ask for it in writing.
Can I book hood branding on a single auto rickshaw?
No. The published minimum for auto hood branding is 300 autos, which is Rs.1,95,000 at the Rs.650 per-auto rate before GST, and the rate falls to Rs.630 from 500 autos. Auto back panel stickers start at 500 autos, at Rs.170 each for the 24x6 size. These are one-time costs covering design, printing and installation, and the branding then runs for months, so the quantity is what makes the per-auto rate possible.
What should I book for a one-day exhibition or trade fair?
A T-Shape centre-board van on a route that passes the venue and its approach roads, rather than an LED truck unless the site will let it park and play. In Kolkata that is Rs.2,200 for the day, in Chennai Rs.2,500, and in Bangalore or Delhi Rs.3,000. Approve artwork at least 48 hours ahead. If the fair runs three days, book three days, because there is no one-day premium but there is no one-day discount either.
Does a one-day van booking include the driver, fuel and permits?
On the four city cards that publish an all-inclusive day rate, yes. The Chennai page states the rate includes creative design, Corporation permits, marine-grade fabrication, GPS tracking and a daily photo report, and Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi publish their day rates the same way. Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mumbai and Ahmedabad publish a one-time fabrication charge of Rs.8,000 to Rs.20,000 on top. GST at 18 percent is extra on every card.
Does a one-day booking miss the 10-day discount?
Yes, by definition. The discounted slab starts at 10 days, where a T-Shape falls to Rs.2,700 a day, an L-Shape to Rs.3,000 and an LED truck to Rs.7,000. A single day pays the full published rate. There is no one-day surcharge anywhere on our cards, so a day costs exactly a day, but if the dates are flexible the ten-day slab is cheaper per day and also spreads any fabrication charge across ten days instead of one.

Quick Answers
Can you book an outdoor advertising campaign for a single day in India?
Only one format. The Mediaverse publishes a minimum booking of 1 day per van for mobile van branding, and that is the only minimum on our rate cards measured in time. Auto hood branding starts at 300 autos, auto back panel stickers at 500 autos, no-parking boards at 1,000 boards and newspaper insertion at 50,000 copies. Those quantities are what the published per-unit rates are built from, so a one-day event can buy a van and cannot buy a proportional slice of anything else.
What is the cheapest one-day outdoor campaign you can book in India?
A Kolkata T-Shape centre-board van at Rs.2,200 for the day, before 18 percent GST. Kolkata publishes the lowest van card of our ten cities, at Rs.2,200 for a T-Shape, Rs.2,800 for an L-Shape and Rs.7,000 for an LED truck, with no separate fabrication charge. The most expensive published single day is a Delhi LED truck at Rs.9,500. Every other format needs its full minimum order, starting at Rs.45,000 for 1,000 no-parking boards.
Why do auto hoods and no-parking boards have minimum order quantities?
Because they are one-time purchases priced per unit, not hires priced per day. A hood cover is printed, fitted and then runs for 6 to 12 months at no further cost, so the rate card prices the fitting quantity rather than a duration. The published minimums are 300 autos for hoods at Rs.650 each, 500 autos for back panel stickers at Rs.170, and 1,000 no-parking boards at Rs.45. Below those quantities the print and installation economics stop working.
How quickly can a mobile van be on the road for a dated event?
Within 48 hours of artwork approval, in every city we publish, which is the fastest published lead time of any format on our cards. Auto hood branding publishes 3 to 5 working days with an express 48-hour option, and newspaper insertion publishes 5 to 10 working days, with Times of India requiring 7 days notice. For a campaign booked on a Thursday for a Saturday, the van is the only format whose published timeline fits.
