Email marketing and CRM automation in India costs Rs.12,000 to Rs.1,50,000 a month in agency fees, most programmes Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000, plus the software. Mediaverse Digital charges Rs.20,000, Rs.40,000 or Rs.75,000 a month, with Mailchimp, Zoho or HubSpot paid in your account, and CRM implementation from Rs.60,000 one-time.
Key takeaways
- Two bills, not one: the agency retainer, Rs.12,000 to Rs.1,50,000 a month in India with most programmes at Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000, and the tool licence, paid by you to the vendor.
- Our published plans, plus 18 percent GST: Nurture Rs.20,000 a month for 4 campaigns and 1 flow, Automate Rs.40,000 for 8 campaigns, 3 flows and CRM admin, Lifecycle Rs.75,000 for email, WhatsApp and SMS. CRM implementation from Rs.60,000 one-time.
- Tools range from free to about $890 a month: Zoho Campaigns free to 2,000 contacts, Mailchimp about Rs.770 to Rs.1,150 a month for small lists, HubSpot Starter about $20 a seat, HubSpot Professional about $890 a month.
- On our arithmetic Nurture and Automate both cost Rs.5,000 per campaign, so the step up buys two more flows, segmentation, lead scoring and CRM administration, not cheaper emails.
- A first year on Automate with a CRM implementation is at least Rs.5,40,000 before GST, Rs.6,37,200 with it, before any licence.
Email marketing is the digital service with the most misleading quotes, because it has two bills and most proposals only show one. There is the work, which an agency charges for, and there is the software, which somebody pays Mailchimp, Zoho or HubSpot for every month. Our email marketing and CRM automation page publishes both: the Indian retainer bands, the tool prices and our own three plans plus a CRM project. This guide puts them together into what a year actually costs.
How much does email marketing cost in India in 2026?
Start with the people side. Indian agency retainers for email marketing run from Rs.12,000 to Rs.1,50,000 a month, and our page puts most small and mid-sized programmes between Rs.15,000 and Rs.50,000. Copy alone is typically Rs.1,000 to Rs.3,000 per email when bought separately. These are market ranges from our service page, not our rate card.
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Nurture | Rs.20,000 a month (about $400) | 4 campaigns a month with copy and design, 1 automated flow maintained, list hygiene, SPF, DKIM and DMARC deliverability, monthly report |
| Automate | Rs.40,000 a month (about $800) | 8 campaigns a month, 3 lifecycle flows (welcome, abandonment, win-back), segmentation and lead scoring, Zoho or HubSpot Starter CRM setup and administration, subject-line A/B tests, fortnightly report |
| Lifecycle | Rs.75,000 a month (about $1,500) | Email, WhatsApp and SMS orchestration, 6 plus flows, RFM segmentation, HubSpot Professional or Zoho Marketing Automation administration, sales handoff rules, weekly dashboard |
| CRM Implementation | From Rs.60,000 one-time (about $1,200) | Pipeline and field design, data migration, automation and handoffs, forms and lead routing, reports, team training. Licence extra |
Placed against the market, Nurture and Automate sit inside the Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000 band where most programmes land, and Lifecycle sits above it but well inside the full Rs.12,000 to Rs.1,50,000 range, because it runs three channels from one platform rather than email alone.
What do Mailchimp, Zoho and HubSpot cost on top of the retainer?
The second bill is the software, and on our plans it is always paid by you, direct to the vendor, from your own account. That is deliberate: the tool, the contact data and the sending reputation stay yours whatever happens with the agency, and nobody can mark up a licence you pay for yourself. The figures below are the ones our service page publishes; check the vendor page before you buy, because vendors change plans.
| Tool | Published price | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Zoho Campaigns | Free up to 2,000 contacts | The sensible default for an Indian list under a few tens of thousands; connects to Zoho CRM |
| Mailchimp | About Rs.770 to Rs.1,150 a month for small lists | A simple newsletter |
| HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter | About $20 per seat a month | Marketing and sales sharing one database |
| HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional | About $890 a month | The Lifecycle plan on HubSpot, or buyers in the US, UK or UAE |
| Zoho Marketing Automation | Roughly $19 to $59 per 1,000 contacts | The Lifecycle plan on Zoho, covering email and WhatsApp |
Two things follow. First, the dollar-priced tools move with the exchange rate and your card's foreign transaction charges, so the rupee cost of a HubSpot or Zoho Marketing Automation licence is not fixed; we have kept those in dollars rather than convert them at a rate we cannot promise. Second, the gap between tools is far wider than the gap between our plans. Three HubSpot Starter seats are about $60 a month on the published per seat price; HubSpot Professional is about $890, nearly 15 times as much. The tool decision can move the total more than the plan decision.
What does the step from Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000 actually buy?
Not cheaper emails. Divide each fee by its campaigns and both plans come out at Rs.5,000 per campaign a month: Rs.20,000 for 4 on Nurture, Rs.40,000 for 8 on Automate. That is our arithmetic. So the extra Rs.20,000 a month buys the same price per campaign plus two more lifecycle flows, segmentation, lead scoring, Starter CRM setup and administration, A/B testing and a fortnightly rather than monthly report.
The market copy rate gives a second check. At Rs.1,000 to Rs.3,000 per email, the copy for Automate's 8 campaigns would cost Rs.8,000 to Rs.24,000 bought on its own. On our arithmetic that leaves Rs.16,000 to Rs.32,000 of the Rs.40,000 for design, the three flows, list hygiene, deliverability, testing and the CRM. A quote that prices campaigns only, with flows and CRM work as extras, is often cheaper on paper and dearer by the second month.
What does a first year of email and CRM automation cost?
A monthly fee hides the size of the decision, so the table turns the published fees into first-year totals. The fees and GST rule are the page's; the totals are our arithmetic. Licences are listed separately because they are paid to the vendor, and the dollar figures are the published monthly prices times twelve.
| Setup | Year-one fees before GST | With GST | Licence, paid to the vendor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nurture on Zoho Campaigns, under 2,000 contacts | Rs.2,40,000 | Rs.2,83,200 | Free tier |
| Nurture on Mailchimp, small list | Rs.2,40,000 | Rs.2,83,200 | About Rs.9,240 to Rs.13,800 a year |
| Automate on HubSpot Starter, 3 seats | Rs.4,80,000 | Rs.5,66,400 | About $720 a year |
| Automate plus CRM implementation | Rs.5,40,000 at least | Rs.6,37,200 at least | Zoho CRM per user in rupees, or HubSpot Starter per seat |
| Lifecycle on HubSpot Professional | Rs.9,00,000 | Rs.10,62,000 | About $10,680 a year |
The implementation line reads "at least" because the page publishes it as a starting price, scoped in writing after the sales process is mapped. Automate already includes Starter CRM setup and administration; the separate implementation is for a business that needs a pipeline designed and data migrated from spreadsheets or an old CRM. A small sales team is typically live within 3 to 4 weeks of sign-off.
What sits outside every plan
Our page lists it: email tool, CRM and SMS licences; WhatsApp per-message and platform charges, billed at cost in your account; custom API work beyond native integrations; photography, illustration and video; and GST. Purchased or scraped contact lists are refused on every plan, because they are what sinks a sending domain.
Why is deliverability the first thing a retainer pays for?
Because a campaign in the spam folder earns nothing. Mailbox providers now require bulk senders to authenticate with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, offer one-click unsubscribe and keep spam complaint rates well under 0.3 percent, as Google's email sender guidelines set out. Our page says most programmes it audits are missing one of these, usually DMARC. So the first two weeks of every plan go on records, a sending subdomain where volume justifies it, removing bounces and dead contacts, and a warm-up schedule for a new domain. Contacts silent for 90 to 180 days move to a re-engagement flow and are then suppressed.
How long before email automation pays back?
- Weeks 1 and 2: deliverability foundation, list cleaned, accounts confirmed in your name.
- Weeks 3 and 4: the first flows and the campaign calendar go live. On Automate that is welcome (3 emails over 7 days), abandonment at 1, 24 and 72 hours for a store or a 3-step nurture over 3 to 10 days for a service business, and a win-back at 90 days of silence.
- Month one: welcome and abandonment flows show orders or replies first, because they act on new contacts immediately.
- Months two and three: win-back and nurture flows need 60 to 90 days of data before their numbers mean anything, so judge the plan at the end of the first quarter, not the first month.
Which email and CRM plan fits your business?
| Situation | Plan and tool | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A list under 2,000 contacts that hears from you once a quarter | Nurture on Zoho Campaigns | A fixed calendar of 4 campaigns and one flow, on a free tool tier |
| A B2B or high-ticket business whose leads sit in a spreadsheet | Automate, plus CRM implementation if data must be migrated | A nurture flow, lead scoring and a pipeline someone administers |
| An online store with abandoned carts and repeat buyers | Automate, moving to Lifecycle when WhatsApp matters | Abandonment and win-back flows first; RFM segmentation on Lifecycle |
| Selling to US, UK or UAE buyers, or already on HubSpot Sales Hub | Automate on HubSpot Starter, or Lifecycle on Professional | The page recommends HubSpot for these cases, and prices both at the same fee |
| A team that bought Zoho or HubSpot and uses a tenth of it | CRM implementation, then Automate | Pipeline, fields and handoffs designed once, then administered |
Zoho or HubSpot is the decision people agonise over, and our page answers it without commission: Zoho CRM for most Indian small and mid-sized businesses, priced in rupees with GST invoicing through Zoho Books; HubSpot for the cases in the table. Lifecycle adds WhatsApp to the same automation, and the per-message charges for that channel are set out in our WhatsApp marketing cost guide. For a B2B pipeline, email nurture usually sits behind B2B lead generation, and if you are still sizing the whole budget, our monthly digital marketing budget guide shows where email fits. Every fee here is also on our published pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
How much does email marketing cost per month in India?
Indian agency retainers for email marketing run Rs.12,000 to Rs.1,50,000 a month, with most small and mid-sized programmes at Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000. Mediaverse Digital charges Rs.20,000 a month for Nurture, Rs.40,000 for Automate and Rs.75,000 for Lifecycle, plus 18 percent GST. The email tool is extra and paid by you: Zoho Campaigns is free up to 2,000 contacts and Mailchimp is about Rs.770 to Rs.1,150 a month for small lists.
Is the email tool included in the agency fee?
Not on our plans, by design. Mailchimp, Zoho, HubSpot and any SMS gateway are paid by you, direct to the vendor, from your own account, and WhatsApp message charges are billed at cost in your account too. That keeps the tool, the contact data and the sending reputation yours if you ever change agency, and it means no licence can be marked up inside the retainer.
How much does a CRM implementation cost in India?
Our CRM implementation for Zoho CRM or HubSpot starts at Rs.60,000 one-time, about $1,200, scoped in writing after we map your sales process. It covers pipeline and field design, migration from spreadsheets or an old CRM, automation, forms and lead routing, reports and team training, and a small team is usually live in 3 to 4 weeks. The licence is extra and paid to the vendor.
What is the difference between the Rs.20,000 and Rs.40,000 email plans?
Both work out at Rs.5,000 per campaign a month on our arithmetic, 4 campaigns on Nurture and 8 on Automate. The extra Rs.20,000 buys two more lifecycle flows, welcome, abandonment and win-back instead of one, segmentation and lead scoring, Zoho or HubSpot Starter CRM setup and administration, subject-line A/B tests, and a fortnightly report instead of a monthly one.
Should I use Zoho or HubSpot for email and CRM?
Our page recommends Zoho for most Indian small and mid-sized businesses: rupee pricing, GST invoicing through Zoho Books, Zoho Campaigns free to 2,000 contacts and Zoho Marketing Automation at roughly $19 to $59 per 1,000 contacts. HubSpot fits businesses selling to US, UK or UAE buyers or already on HubSpot Sales Hub, at about $20 a seat on Starter or about $890 a month on Professional. We charge the same fee for either.
How many marketing emails should a business send each month?
Our page recommends 4 to 8 campaigns a month for most businesses, one or two a week, plus the automated flows that run on behaviour. Below 2 a month the list forgets you and complaints rise when you do send; above 8, unsubscribes climb unless the list is tightly segmented. Nurture covers 4 campaigns, Automate 8, and Lifecycle adds RFM segmentation for stores that can sustain more.
