A Rs.40,000 Logo vs a Rs.1,00,000 Identity in India (2026): What the Cheaper Tier Cannot Do, Deliverable by Deliverable
The Rs.60,000 gap between our Logo and Identity tiers buys five things: positioning, a full colour and type system, stationery, 6 social templates and 20-page guidelines. Here is each one against the job it does in your first six months, and what happens to that job if you only bought the logo.

Rs.40,000 buys the mark: 3 concepts, 3 revision rounds, the vector suite, colour and type picks, a 1-page usage sheet and social avatars. It cannot give a team templates, stationery, print-ready colour values or guidelines. Identity adds those for Rs.1,00,000, and a Logo upgraded within 6 months costs the same total.
Key takeaways
- The gap is Rs.60,000 before GST, Rs.70,800 with it, and buys five published lines: positioning and tone of voice, a full colour and type system, stationery and email signature, 6 social templates and 20-page guidelines.
- Both tiers share the core: discovery and a written brief, 3 concepts mocked on an auto panel and a phone, 3 revision rounds and the full vector suite with mono, reverse and symbol-only lockups.
- The Logo tier stops at a 1-page usage sheet. Our page prices a guidelines document bought separately on the market at Rs.10,000 to Rs.40,000, and that buys the document only, not the system it describes.
- Upgrading within 6 months credits the Rs.40,000 against Identity, so Logo-first costs Rs.1,00,000 in total either way. After 6 months the extension is scoped separately with no published price.
- Identity takes 5 to 6 weeks against 3 to 4 for Logo, so the extra deliverables cost about two weeks as well as Rs.60,000.
The Rs.60,000 between our two lower branding tiers is not a premium for better design. On our branding and logo design page, the Logo tier at Rs.40,000 and the Identity tier at Rs.1,00,000 share the same discovery call, the same 3 concepts mocked on an auto panel and a phone, the same 3 revision rounds and the same vector suite. What the extra money buys is five specific deliverables: a positioning and tone-of-voice summary, a full colour and type system, stationery with an email signature, 6 social templates and 20 pages of guidelines. Each one exists for a job a business does in its first few months. This post takes those jobs one at a time and says plainly what the Rs.40,000 tier leaves you to do on your own.
What does each tier include, line by line?
The table lists every feature our page publishes for the two tiers, in the page's own words where possible. Rows marked "Same" are identical on both.
| Deliverable | Logo, Rs.40,000 | Identity, Rs.1,00,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery | Discovery call and written brief | Same, plus a written positioning and tone-of-voice summary |
| Concepts and revisions | 3 concepts, 3 revision rounds | Same |
| Concept testing | Mocked on an auto panel and a phone; checked in mono, reversed and at 16 pixels | Same |
| Final logo files | AI, SVG, PDF and PNG; colour, mono and reverse; horizontal, stacked and symbol-only lockups | Same |
| Colour and type | Colour and type picks | Full system: palettes with hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone references, contrast-checked, type pairing with rules for headings, body and interface text |
| Stationery | Not included | Business card, letterhead, invoice template, email signature, social covers, as editable Figma or Canva files |
| Templates | Social avatars only | 6 social templates with locked brand elements |
| Guidelines | 1-page usage sheet | 20-page guidelines as a PDF and a live link |
| Timeline | 3 to 4 weeks | 5 to 6 weeks |
| Payment | Rs.20,000 at kick-off, Rs.20,000 on delivery | Rs.50,000 at kick-off, Rs.50,000 on delivery |
The payment split is the page's half-at-kick-off, half-on-delivery rule applied to each tier. GST is added for Indian clients; at 18 percent that makes Logo Rs.47,200 and Identity Rs.1,18,000, so the gap with tax is Rs.70,800, by our arithmetic.
Can the Rs.40,000 logo brief a printer?
Partly. The Logo tier hands over print-ready vector files in colour, mono and reverse, which is what a printer needs to reproduce the mark itself. What it gives for colour is "colour and type picks". The Identity tier is where the page lists palettes with hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone references, contrast-checked for accessibility. That difference shows up the first time a business card, a shop board and a website have to be the same colour, because each of those is produced from a different colour value.
With only the Logo tier, the printer, the web developer and the signage vendor each work out their own version of the colour from what they are given. Sometimes that works. When it does not, the brand ends up as three slightly different reds, which is the problem the page describes in its own words: without a colour and type system, a brand is whatever the last freelancer felt like. The full system is the fix the Logo tier does not include.
Can a team post on-brand every week with only the logo?
Not without a designer each time. The Logo tier includes social avatars, sized for each platform, and stops there. Identity adds 6 social templates as editable files with locked brand elements, which the page says lets a non-designer produce an on-brand post in minutes rather than a day. It calls editable templates the deliverable that gets skipped most often and saves the most money. If your posts will come from a founder, an intern or a social media retainer, the templates are what keep post 40 looking like post 1.
What we are not claiming
Our page publishes no figure for how much time or money templates save, and neither do we. The point is narrower: on the Logo tier, every new post format starts from a blank canvas, and on Identity, six of them do not.
What about invoices, letterheads and email signatures?
None of them come with the Logo tier. Identity includes a business card, a letterhead, an invoice template, an email signature and social covers, delivered as editable Figma or Canva files so the team can change a phone number without booking a designer. For a business that sends quotes and invoices from week one, this is the most visible gap: the first document a client receives is usually an invoice or a quote, and on the Logo tier its layout is whatever the accounting software or the word processor produces.
What happens when a second designer picks up the brand?
This is the job the guidelines exist for. The Logo tier provides a 1-page usage sheet; Identity provides 20 pages, shared as a PDF and a live link you can send to any vendor. The usage sheet tells the next designer how to place the mark. The guidelines tell them how to build everything around it.
It is tempting to price this gap as the cost of a guidelines document bought later. Our page publishes a market range for exactly that: a guidelines document alone is usually a Rs.10,000 to Rs.40,000 add-on. But a guidelines document can only write down a system that exists. If the colour values, type rules and templates were never made, the document has nothing to record, so the add-on price undercounts the gap.
Does the logo tier include positioning or tone of voice?
No. Both tiers start with a discovery call and a written brief you approve, so the mark is designed to a brief rather than to taste. Identity adds a written positioning and tone-of-voice summary on top. That summary is what a website copywriter, an ad agency or a new hire reads before writing anything in the brand's name. On the Logo tier, the brief informs the mark and nothing is written down for the words that will sit next to it.
One honest caveat on taglines. The page's FAQ says taglines and a messaging framework are part of Identity and Brand Book, while its tier list shows the messaging framework only on Brand Book. If a tagline matters to you on the Identity tier, ask for it to be named in the scope document, which the page says lists every deliverable by tier before the first payment.
Which first-six-months jobs does each tier cover?
| Job | With Logo, Rs.40,000 | With Identity, Rs.1,00,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Put the mark on a shop board, auto panel or packaging | Covered: vector suite with mono and reverse | Covered |
| Set up social profiles | Covered: social avatars | Covered, plus social covers |
| Post weekly without a designer | Not covered | 6 editable social templates |
| Send a branded quote or invoice | Not covered | Invoice template, letterhead |
| Match colours across print and web | Colour picks only | Hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone values |
| Brief a website developer or copywriter | Mark and usage sheet | Guidelines plus positioning and tone of voice |
| Hand the brand to a new designer or agency | 1-page usage sheet | 20-page guidelines |
| Outdoor, signage and packaging templates | Not covered | Not covered; Brand Book only |
The last row matters for businesses heading to the street. Every tier mocks each concept on an auto panel before you see it, but the outdoor, signage and packaging templates are a Brand Book line at Rs.2,50,000. Our logo-to-street playbook covers what the Logo tier hands an outdoor printer and why the hood rate already includes its own layout.
Does starting with the Rs.40,000 logo cost more in the end?
Not if you upgrade within 6 months. The page says that inside that window the Rs.40,000 already paid is credited against the Rs.1,00,000 Identity price and only the difference, Rs.60,000, is invoiced. Logo-first and Identity-first then cost the same Rs.1,00,000 before GST. After 6 months the page says the extension is scoped separately, because palettes and applications may have moved on, and it publishes no price for that scope.
| Path | Paid at start | Paid later | Total | Price certainty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Identity up front | Rs.1,00,000 | None | Rs.1,00,000 | Published |
| Logo, upgraded within 6 months | Rs.40,000 | Rs.60,000 | Rs.1,00,000 | Published |
| Logo, extended after 6 months | Rs.40,000 | Scoped separately | Not published | Quote only |
So the decision is really about timing, not price. If you can name, today, the month in which you will need templates, stationery or a second designer, and it falls inside six months, the Logo tier is a free option on Identity. If you cannot, or if the gap would open after month six, the only published way to lock the Rs.1,00,000 is to buy Identity now. Our logo and brand identity cost guide sets both tiers against the wider Indian market, where the page puts freelancers at Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000 and identity packages at Rs.75,000 to Rs.5 lakh.
How much longer does Identity take?
About two weeks. The page gives Logo 3 to 4 weeks from kick-off to final files and Identity 5 to 6 weeks, with each revision round scheduled for 2 to 3 working days on the agency side and your feedback speed as the main variable. A launch date is agreed in the brief and the rounds are planned backward from it, so a business with a fixed opening date and less than five weeks to go is, on these timelines, choosing between a Logo now and an Identity later, not between two tiers delivered on the same day.
Which tier should you buy?
| Your situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Founder does everything, little weekly content, one shop or one service | Logo | The vector suite and usage sheet cover signage and profiles; upgrade within 6 months if that changes |
| A team or freelancer will post every week | Identity | The 6 templates are the deliverable that removes a designer from each post |
| You send quotes and invoices from week one | Identity | Stationery and an invoice template are Identity-only |
| Several vendors: printer, web developer, signage | Identity | Colour values and 20-page guidelines keep them consistent |
| Launch in under five weeks | Logo now, Identity inside 6 months | Logo is 3 to 4 weeks; the credit keeps the total at Rs.1,00,000 |
| Outdoor, packaging and signage at scale | Brand Book | Outdoor and packaging templates are not in either lower tier |
Neither tier includes font licences for commercial typefaces, trademark search and filing, printing or naming, and website design is a separate service. The pricing page lists all three branding tiers next to the other services, with GST extra for Indian clients.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Rs.40,000 logo and the Rs.1,00,000 identity?
Five published deliverables. Identity adds a positioning and tone-of-voice summary, a full colour and type system with hex, RGB, CMYK and Pantone values, stationery with an email signature and invoice template, 6 social templates and 20-page guidelines. Both tiers share the discovery call, 3 concepts, 3 revision rounds and the full vector suite. The Logo tier ends with a 1-page usage sheet and social avatars.
Is the Logo tier enough for a small business in India?
It can be, if one person makes everything and little content goes out each week. The vector suite covers signage, packaging and profiles. The gaps appear when someone else has to produce on-brand posts, invoices or a website, because templates, stationery, colour values and guidelines are Identity deliverables. If those needs arrive within 6 months, the upgrade credit keeps the total at Rs.1,00,000.
Can I add guidelines to the Logo tier later instead of buying Identity?
Our page puts a guidelines document bought on its own at a typical Rs.10,000 to Rs.40,000 on the market, but it does not publish a guidelines-only add-on on our tiers. A guidelines document also records a system; without the colour values, type rules and templates, there is little for it to describe. The published route is the Identity upgrade, Rs.60,000 within 6 months.
How much is the Identity tier with GST?
Rs.1,18,000 with 18 percent GST, against Rs.47,200 for the Logo tier, so the gap with tax is Rs.70,800, by our arithmetic. The page says GST is added for Indian clients and the fee is paid half at kick-off and half on final file delivery: Rs.50,000 and Rs.50,000 for Identity, Rs.20,000 and Rs.20,000 for Logo, before tax.
Does the Identity tier include outdoor or packaging templates?
No. Outdoor, signage and packaging templates, and 60 days of rollout support, are Brand Book lines at Rs.2,50,000. What every tier does include is the street-scale test: each concept is mocked on an auto panel and a phone, and checked in mono, reversed and at 16 pixels, before it is presented to you.
