From Logo to Street: Testing a New Identity at Auto-Hood Scale Before You Print 300 of Them (2026)

Our Logo tier is Rs.40,000. The smallest auto hood order on our outdoor card is 300 autos at Rs.650, or Rs.1,95,000. This is the playbook for checking the first before you pay for the second: what the 30-metre test catches, which tier hands the printer what, the timeline from brief to road, and what a failed mark costs.

Test the mark before the hood order, because the hood order is the bigger bill. Our Logo tier is Rs.40,000 and mocks every concept on an auto panel at 30 metres and at 16 pixels. The smallest hood run is 300 autos at Rs.650, Rs.1,95,000 before GST, with hood design, printing and installation included.

Key takeaways

  • By our arithmetic, the Rs.40,000 Logo tier is about a fifth of the smallest hood order, 300 autos at Rs.650, which is Rs.1,95,000 before GST and Rs.2,30,100 with it.
  • Every branding tier mocks each concept on an auto panel and a phone, and checks mono, reverse and 16-pixel versions, before you see it. Outdoor templates for auto panels are a Brand Book line only.
  • The hood rate already includes design, printing and installation, so the Logo tier hands over the mark and files and the outdoor team lays out the hood around them.
  • Logo takes 3 to 4 weeks and hood setup 3 to 5 working days, so a brief approved on 19 October 2026 puts hoods on the road around 12 to 23 November, after Diwali on 8 November.
  • The hood card publishes no reprint or partial rate, so a mark that fails on the road is best priced as another 300-auto order at Rs.1,95,000.

Rs.40,000 is the price of the Logo tier on our branding and logo design page. Rs.1,95,000 is the price of the smallest order on our auto hood branding page: 300 autos at Rs.650 each, one-time, with design, printing and installation included and 18 percent GST on top, Rs.2,30,100 in all. For a business putting a brand-new mark on the street, the second number is the one that hurts if the first goes wrong, and the branding page is built around exactly that risk: every concept is mocked up on an auto panel seen from 30 metres and on a phone before it is presented. This post is the playbook for using that test properly. Every price, timeline and deliverable below is from those two pages and the pricing page as read on 17 October 2026. Totals, shares and dates are our arithmetic and marked as ours.

What is at stake when a new logo goes onto 300 auto hoods?

Logo tier plus 300 hoodsRs.2,35,000Rs.2,77,300A new mark on its first street run

Read the table from the bottom. A new mark plus its first 300 hoods is Rs.2,35,000 before GST, and the logo is 17 percent of it. The hood order is almost five times the logo fee. That ratio is the whole argument for testing before printing: the cheap part of the job is where the expensive part gets decided. It is also why the hood order should never be booked against concepts. Book it against final files, after the revision rounds are closed.

What does the 30-metre test actually check?

The branding page names the failures it is looking for, from what The Mediaverse sees on its own outdoor runs: at 30 metres, in direct sun, printed on flex by a vendor in a hurry, thin strokes vanish, gradients band and low-contrast palettes disappear against a road. The same mark then has to sit inside a 40-pixel WhatsApp avatar and a Meta ad thumbnail. So each concept is checked at both ends before it reaches you, and anything that fails one is fixed or dropped first.

The checks the branding page lists for every concept, and what each one protects on an auto hood (checks from the page; the hood column is our reading)

Included on every tier

The auto-panel and phone mockups, and the mono, reverse and 16-pixel checks, are part of every branding tier, including the Rs.40,000 Logo tier. You do not need Brand Book to have your mark tested at street scale. What Brand Book adds is the outdoor templates themselves, for hoardings, auto rickshaw panels, van wraps and shop name boards.

For a single hood campaign, the Logo tier covers what the printer needs, because the hood itself is designed by the outdoor team: the auto hood page says its Rs.650 rate includes design, printing and installation. The branding side hands over the mark, the vector suite and the colour picks; the outdoor side lays out the hood around them. Brand Book earns its price when the identity will run on packaging, signage, outdoor and digital at once, which is how the page describes it, or when a launch is going out through several outdoor formats in the same month, the case our digital plus outdoor page plans for.

How do you test a new identity before booking 300 hoods?

  1. Ask for the auto-panel mockup of each concept at the presentation, next to the phone mockup. The page says both are made before you see the concepts, so they should be in the deck.
  2. Judge the hood mockup small, our suggestion rather than a published step: look at it on a phone at arm's length. If the business name cannot be read there, a pedestrian will not read it on a moving auto.
  3. Choose the direction against the mono and reverse versions too, not just the colour one. A mark that only works in full colour is the first thing a hurried print run breaks.
  4. Spend the revision rounds on the street problems first: stroke weight, contrast and how much text sits next to the mark. Taste can wait for the last round.
  5. Hand the outdoor team the final vector files, AI, SVG or PDF, with the colour picks, never a PNG pulled from a social post. Book the hood order only after the last round is closed.

There is one more step that is not about design. The branding page recommends a formal trademark search and filing through your lawyer before launch, billed outside the design fee. Running that search before 300 hoods are printed is cheaper than learning about a conflict after. Our logo and brand identity cost guide covers what the trademark and font-licence lines cost around the three tiers.

How long from an approved brief to hoods on the road?

A Logo tier into a 300-hood order, from a brief approved on Monday 19 October 2026 (durations from the branding and auto hood pages; dates are our arithmetic)
StagePublished durationDates on our arithmetic
Discovery call and written briefWeek 1Week of 19 October
3 concepts with auto-panel and phone mockupsWeek 2 to 326 October to 6 November
Up to 3 revision rounds, 2 to 3 working days each on our sideWeek 3 to 5 (Logo totals 3 to 4 weeks)Final files 9 to 16 November
Hood campaign setup3 to 5 working days, express 48 hoursHoods out about 12 to 23 November

Two things follow. First, a mark started this week cannot be on hoods before Diwali on 8 November 2026; the honest target is late November. The express setup on the hood page saves a few days at the end, not weeks. Second, your feedback speed is the variable the branding page names, so the fastest way to an earlier road date is answering each revision round inside its 2 to 3 working days. On the same arithmetic, Identity at 5 to 6 weeks lands hoods around late November to early December, and Brand Book at 8 to 10 weeks pushes them toward the turn of the year.

What does a logo that fails on the road cost?

More than the logo. The hood card publishes no reprint rate and no partial order, so the safe way to price a redo is another 300-auto order at Rs.650: Rs.1,95,000 again, or Rs.2,30,100 with GST. The auto hood page also says a hood typically lasts 6 to 12 months in Indian conditions and does not warrant a life, so a weak mark is not something you can wait out cheaply either. Against that, a fourth revision round on the branding side is quoted in writing before any work starts. Paying for one more round is almost always the cheaper mistake.

If the mark is right but the business later wants the full system, the page offers an upgrade path: move from Logo to Identity within 6 months and the Rs.40,000 is credited against Rs.1,00,000, so only Rs.60,000 is invoiced. That makes the Logo tier a safe start for a first hood run, with the guidelines added once the brand is also heading into a website design project or a second outdoor format.

What does the auto-hood test not cover?

  • A mockup is not a print proof. The branding page tests concepts as mockups; it publishes no physical test print on an auto, and printing is outside every branding tier.
  • The hood layout is designed by the outdoor team inside the Rs.650 rate, so its approval is a separate sign-off from the logo sign-off. Ask to see it before printing.
  • GST: the branding page adds GST for Indian clients and the hood card adds 18 percent, so both lines carry it.
  • The 30-metre figure is the page's own test distance, not a published study of how far a hood is read from.
  • The full outdoor card, back panels at Rs.170 for 500 to 799 autos and Rs.140 from 800, and hoods at Rs.650 from 300, is on the auto branding page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the Brand Book tier before running auto hood ads?

No. Every branding tier, including the Rs.40,000 Logo tier, mocks each concept on an auto panel seen from 30 metres and on a phone, and checks mono, reverse and 16-pixel versions. The auto hood rate of Rs.650 already includes hood design. Brand Book, at Rs.2,50,000, adds outdoor, signage and packaging templates and 60 days of rollout support, which matters when several formats launch together.

How much does it cost to put a new logo on 300 autos?

On our published prices, Rs.2,35,000 before GST by our arithmetic: Rs.40,000 for the Logo tier and Rs.1,95,000 for the smallest hood order of 300 autos at Rs.650. With 18 percent GST that is Rs.2,77,300. The hood rate is one-time and covers hood design, printing and installation. From 500 autos the hood rate drops to Rs.630.

Is a logo mockup on an auto the same as a print proof?

No. The branding page tests each concept as a mockup on an auto panel and a phone before presentation, which catches thin strokes, banding gradients and weak contrast early. It does not publish a physical test print on an auto, and printing sits outside every branding tier. The hood layout itself is designed by the outdoor team and should get its own sign-off before the run is printed.

How soon can hoods with a new logo be on the road?

About three and a half to five weeks after an approved brief on the Logo tier, by our arithmetic. The branding page puts Logo at 3 to 4 weeks from kick-off to final files, and the auto hood page sets up a campaign in 3 to 5 working days, or 48 hours on express. A brief approved on 19 October 2026 lands hoods around 12 to 23 November.

What files should the auto hood printer get?

The final vector files, AI, SVG or PDF, with the colour picks and the mono and reverse versions, all part of the Logo tier's vector suite. Never a PNG taken from a social post, which loses sharpness at hood size. The outdoor team designs the hood layout around those files inside the Rs.650 rate, so send them only after the last revision round is closed.

What happens if the logo does not work once it is on the hoods?

The hood card publishes no reprint or partial rate, so the safe assumption is another 300-auto order at Rs.650, Rs.1,95,000 before GST. Hoods typically last 6 to 12 months, which the hood page does not warrant, so a weak mark cannot simply be waited out. That is why the auto-panel test and an extra revision round, quoted in writing first, cost less than a second print run.
