Influencer Marketing Cost in India (2026): Creator Rates by Tier and What the Agency Fee Covers
Typical creator rates from nano to macro, the three ways Indian agencies charge, and our own published tiers worked out all-in, including the point where our fee is nearly half the bill.

A properly briefed and tracked starter influencer campaign in India costs Rs.1.5 to 3 lakh all-in in 2026. One Instagram reel typically costs Rs.2,000 to Rs.10,000 from a nano creator, Rs.8,000 to Rs.75,000 from a micro creator and Rs.2 to 8 lakh from a macro account. Mediaverse Digital charges from Rs.40,000 per campaign plus 15 percent of creator spend.
Key takeaways
- Typical Indian rates for one Instagram reel: nano Rs.2,000 to Rs.10,000, micro Rs.8,000 to Rs.75,000, mid-tier Rs.50,000 to Rs.3.5 lakh, macro Rs.2 to 8 lakh and above. These are market ranges, not our rate card.
- Agencies charge a project fee of Rs.50,000 to Rs.5 lakh, 15 to 25 percent of creator spend, or a retainer of Rs.1.5 to 6 lakh a month. Ours is a flat campaign fee plus 15 percent, with creator fees passed through at cost.
- Worked all-in at the minimum creator budget, Creator Seeding is Rs.97,500 and Creator Campaign is Rs.3,30,000 before GST. Our fees are 48.7 and 39.4 percent of those totals.
- The Rs.1,75,000 Always-On retainer costs less than running a Creator Campaign every month only above Rs.5 lakh of monthly creator spend, on fee alone.
- A Rs.4 lakh budget buys roughly one macro reel, or about Rs.2,60,870 of creator fees across 15 to 30 creators on Creator Campaign once our fee and 15 percent are taken out.
Influencer marketing is the one digital channel where most of the money never reaches the agency: it goes to creators. That makes the price hard to read, because a quote mixes three different costs and rarely shows which is which. This guide separates them, using the typical Indian creator rate bands and our own influencer marketing tiers, and then does the arithmetic most agency pages leave out: what each tier costs all-in, and how much of that total is the agency's fee.
How much does influencer marketing cost in India in 2026?
Three costs make up every campaign: creator fees, the agency's fee, and paid amplification if the best posts are run as ads. A realistic starter campaign with 8 to 15 creators, properly briefed and tracked, costs Rs.1.5 to 3 lakh all-in. The biggest line is almost always the creators, and their rates move with follower tier, platform, niche, city and season.
| Creator tier | Followers | One Instagram reel | One YouTube integration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nano | Under 10,000 | Rs.2,000 to Rs.10,000 | Not published as a separate band |
| Micro | Up to about 1,00,000 | Rs.8,000 to Rs.75,000 | Rs.20,000 to Rs.1 lakh |
| Mid-tier | Above micro | Rs.50,000 to Rs.3.5 lakh | Rs.1 to 5 lakh |
| Macro | Large accounts | Rs.2 to 8 lakh and above | Rs.5 lakh upwards |
Three adjustments sit on top of those bands. A bundle of one reel plus three stories usually costs 20 to 30 percent more than the reel alone. Usage rights beyond the standard 90 days typically add 20 to 50 percent to a creator's fee. And rates rise in the fortnight before Diwali, when every consumer brand is booking the same creators. The bands overlap on purpose: a micro creator in a narrow, high-value niche can out-price a mid-tier generalist.
What does the agency fee actually cover?
Not the creator list, which anyone can build in an afternoon. The fee pays for roughly 40 to 60 hours of coordination per campaign: chasing quotes, checking audiences, writing a brief creators will follow, negotiating usage rights, keeping 20 posting dates on track, reviewing drafts for claims and disclosure, releasing payments only when posts are live, and pulling every number into one report. Indian agencies price that work in one of three ways.
| Model | Typical range | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Project fee | Rs.50,000 to Rs.5 lakh per campaign | Whether creator fees are inside the number or on top of it |
| Percentage of creator spend | 15 to 25 percent | Whether a margin is also hidden inside the creator invoices |
| Monthly retainer | Rs.1.5 to 6 lakh a month | How many activations a month the retainer actually includes |
Our model combines the first two at the low end of the percentage band, and removes the percentage entirely on the retainer. Creator fees are invoiced at the amount the creator was paid, with the 15 percent shown as its own line, so the three costs in the first section stay visibly separate.
| Tier | Fee | Creators | Creator budget | Adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator Seeding | Rs.40,000 per campaign plus 15 percent of creator spend | 5 to 10 nano and micro | From Rs.50,000, at cost | Brief, shortlist with audience data, contracts with usage rights, approvals, UTM and coupon tracking, wrap report |
| Creator Campaign | Rs.1,00,000 per campaign plus 15 percent of creator spend | 15 to 30 across nano, micro and mid | From Rs.2,00,000, at cost | Everything above, plus whitelisting for paid amplification, a performance dashboard and a repurposing pack |
| Always-On Creators | Rs.1,75,000 a month, no percentage | 10 to 20 activations a month | At cost | Ambassador programme, UGC pipeline for ads, affiliate and coupon tracking, a dedicated creator manager |
What does each published tier cost all-in?
Here is every campaign tier worked through at its published minimum creator budget and at one step above it. The arithmetic is ours, on the published fees; GST is added to our fees for Indian clients and is left out of every total below.
| Scenario | Campaign fee | Creator fees at cost | 15 percent | All-in total | Our fees as a share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Creator Seeding at the Rs.50,000 minimum | Rs.40,000 | Rs.50,000 | Rs.7,500 | Rs.97,500 | 48.7 percent |
| Creator Seeding at Rs.1,00,000 of creators | Rs.40,000 | Rs.1,00,000 | Rs.15,000 | Rs.1,55,000 | 35.5 percent |
| Creator Campaign at the Rs.2,00,000 minimum | Rs.1,00,000 | Rs.2,00,000 | Rs.30,000 | Rs.3,30,000 | 39.4 percent |
| Creator Campaign at Rs.3,00,000 of creators | Rs.1,00,000 | Rs.3,00,000 | Rs.45,000 | Rs.4,45,000 | 32.6 percent |
The number we would rather you see before signing
At the minimum creator budget, close to half of a Creator Seeding bill is our fee: Rs.47,500 of Rs.97,500. That is what a flat campaign fee does to a small budget, and it is why the published minimum exists. If Rs.50,000 is the whole creator budget you will ever have, a smaller local test, or paid social with the same money, may be the better first step. Every rupee added to the creator budget above the minimum pulls our share down.
The Rs.97,500 Seeding total also sits below the Rs.1.5 to 3 lakh market band for a tracked starter campaign, because it runs 5 to 10 creators rather than 8 to 15. At Rs.1,00,000 of creators it lands at Rs.1,55,000, inside the band. If you are deciding between creators and a monthly content retainer instead, our social media management cost guide prices the Rs.30,000, Rs.55,000 and Rs.1,00,000 social tiers the same way.
When does a monthly creator retainer beat paying per campaign?
Only at real volume. A brand running a Creator Campaign every month pays Rs.1,00,000 plus 15 percent of that month's creator spend. The Always-On retainer is a flat Rs.1,75,000 with no percentage. The two fees meet where 15 percent of creator spend equals Rs.75,000, which is Rs.5,00,000 of creator fees a month. Below that, per-campaign billing costs less; above it, the retainer does, and at Rs.8 lakh of monthly creator spend the saving is Rs.45,000 a month.
Two caveats keep that comparison honest. It is on fee alone, and the scopes are not identical: the retainer is built for 10 to 20 activations a month with an ambassador programme, while a Creator Campaign is one 15 to 30 creator push lasting 5 to 7 weeks, so a brand cannot really run one every calendar month without overlap. The break-even tells you when the retainer stops being the expensive option. It does not tell you that you need one.
What does a creator budget actually buy?
Divide a budget by the typical bands and the shape of the campaign falls out. The splits below are our illustrations on the market ranges; the actual fee for each creator is negotiated and shown to you before contracts are issued.
| Budget | How it can be spent | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Rs.50,000 of creator fees | 4 nano creators at Rs.5,000 and 3 micro creators at Rs.10,000 | 7 reels across 7 audiences, inside the Seeding range of 5 to 10 creators |
| Rs.50,000 at the nano extremes | 5 reels at Rs.10,000, or up to 25 at Rs.2,000 | Volume depends on where your niche sits in the nano band; above 10 creators the work outgrows the Seeding scope |
| Rs.4,00,000 all-in, one creator | One macro reel inside the Rs.2 to 8 lakh band | One audience, one creative, one day |
| Rs.4,00,000 all-in on Creator Campaign | Rs.1,00,000 fee, Rs.2,60,870 of creator fees, Rs.39,130 at 15 percent | 15 to 30 creators and a quarter of ad creative under paid usage rights |
The last two rows are the real decision behind most enquiries we get. A single macro post is a bet on one audience on one day. The same money spread across 15 to 30 creators buys content you can test, and the posts that work can run as whitelisted ads from your own Meta ads account, where creator footage usually does the work that studio creative was bought for.
Is barter influencer marketing actually cheaper?
Per post promised, yes. Per post delivered, usually not. Our operating expectation, which is field experience rather than a measured study, is that 30 to 50 percent of barter creators post late or not at all, because nothing in a free-product arrangement obliges them to. For product worth more than about Rs.1,000, or any creator above 10,000 followers, a paid fee with a contract, a deadline and a tracking code costs less per usable post than free product and hope.
What is not included in the price?
- Creator fees themselves, passed through at cost and shown on each invoice.
- Product samples, shipping, and any event or travel costs for creators.
- Paid amplification budget, paid directly to Meta or YouTube from your own ad account.
- Studio production, if a creator or campaign needs a professional shoot.
- Usage rights beyond the standard 90 days, negotiated per creator.
- GST, added to our fees for Indian clients.
How long does an influencer campaign take to run?
Creator Seeding takes about 3 to 4 weeks from approved brief to the last post, and Creator Campaign 5 to 7 weeks, because creators need 7 to 10 days to shoot and post once a contract is signed. The wrap report, with cost per view and cost per order for each creator, follows within 10 days of the last post. For a festival or launch window, start 8 weeks out. Every post carries the paid partnership disclosure required under the ASCI guidelines for influencer advertising, and every figure in this guide can be checked against our published pricing, which governs if a quote ever differs.
Frequently asked questions
What do Instagram influencers charge per reel in India in 2026?
Typical Indian rates for one Instagram reel are Rs.2,000 to Rs.10,000 for nano creators under 10,000 followers, Rs.8,000 to Rs.75,000 for micro creators up to about 1,00,000, Rs.50,000 to Rs.3.5 lakh for mid-tier and Rs.2 to 8 lakh or more for macro accounts. A reel plus three stories usually costs 20 to 30 percent more, and rates rise in the fortnight before Diwali. These are market ranges, not a rate card.
What is the all-in cost of the Rs.40,000 Creator Seeding tier?
At the published minimum creator budget of Rs.50,000 it is Rs.97,500 before GST: Rs.40,000 campaign fee, Rs.50,000 of creator fees at cost and Rs.7,500 as the 15 percent coordination fee. That makes our fees 48.7 percent of the total, which is our arithmetic on the published tier. At Rs.1,00,000 of creator fees the total is Rs.1,55,000 and our share falls to 35.5 percent.
Why is there a 15 percent fee on top of the campaign fee?
Because coordination grows with the number of creators rather than with the calendar. The flat campaign fee covers strategy, briefs, tracking and reporting, while the 15 percent covers outreach, negotiation, contracts, approvals and payment handling for each creator, shown as its own invoice line. The market range for percentage models is 15 to 25 percent, and agencies quoting no percentage often recover it inside the creator invoices.
When is the Rs.1,75,000 a month Always-On retainer worth it?
On fee alone, when monthly creator spend passes Rs.5,00,000. Below that, a Rs.1,00,000 Creator Campaign plus 15 percent of creator spend costs less; above it the flat retainer is cheaper, by Rs.45,000 a month at Rs.8 lakh of spend. The retainer also changes the shape of the work, 10 to 20 activations a month with an ambassador programme, so it suits brands that want creators running continuously.
Is one macro influencer better value than several micro creators?
Rarely for a first campaign. A Rs.4 lakh budget buys roughly one macro reel, one audience and one day. The same Rs.4 lakh on Creator Campaign, after our Rs.1,00,000 fee and the 15 percent, leaves Rs.2,60,870 for 15 to 30 creators, which gives you several audiences, content to test, and ads to run afterwards. Macro creators earn their fee on national launches, ideally after micro creators have proved the hook.
Do influencer campaign costs in India include GST and product samples?
Not in the published tiers. GST is added to our campaign fee and coordination fee for Indian clients. Product samples, shipping, creator travel, studio production, paid amplification budget and usage rights beyond the standard 90 days all sit outside the fee and are listed as exclusions on the service page, so a quote should show each one as a separate line before anything is signed.
