Local SEO vs Google Ads for a Single-Location Business in India: Rs.15,000 Against Rs.55,000 a Month (2026)
On our pages local SEO for one location is Rs.15,000 a month with no media spend, and the cheapest managed Google Ads month is Rs.25,000 of fees plus a Rs.30,000 ad budget. This compares what each one buys, how fast each one produces enquiries, what stays yours when you stop, and which to start with.

For one location, local SEO on our pages costs Rs.15,000 a month with no media spend, while Google Ads needs a Rs.25,000 fee plus at least Rs.30,000 of ad budget, so Rs.55,000. Ads can bring enquiries in their first live week; the map pack moves in 4 to 8 weeks uncontested. Start with local SEO unless you need leads now.
Key takeaways
- Local Presence is Rs.15,000 a month for one location, Rs.17,700 with GST, and buys no media; the Google Ads Launch plan is Rs.25,000 plus a Rs.30,000 minimum ad budget paid to Google, so Rs.55,000 before GST and Rs.59,500 with GST on the fee.
- At the floor, managed Google Ads costs 3.7 times local SEO each month, and 5 times in the competitive categories where the ads page sets a Rs.50,000 media floor; a first year at each floor is Rs.2,12,400 against Rs.7,14,000 with GST on fees.
- Google Ads goes live within 7 to 10 working days and the page says first leads usually arrive in week one; local SEO finishes the profile in 10 working days and the map pack typically moves in 4 to 8 weeks uncontested, 3 to 6 months in a competitive metro category.
- On the ads page's own click bands and its 5 percent example conversion rate, Rs.30,000 of local-service clicks buys about 37 to 150 leads, Rs.367 to Rs.1,467 each once the Rs.25,000 fee is added; the local SEO page publishes no lead forecast at all.
- When you stop, local SEO leaves the profile, reviews, citations, pages and reports in your name; Google Ads leaves the account and tracking in your name, but the enquiries stop with the budget.
- Our order for a single location: local SEO first when customers search nearby and the business can wait 4 to 8 weeks; Google Ads first, or both at Rs.70,000 a month before GST, when enquiries are needed this month.
Rs.15,000 a month against Rs.55,000 a month is the honest starting gap for a business with one location. The first is Local Presence on our local SEO and Google Business Profile page, which needs no ad budget. The second is the cheapest month the Google Ads management page allows: the Rs.25,000 Launch fee plus the Rs.30,000 minimum ad budget it sets, paid to Google from your own billing profile. Owners of a single clinic, salon, showroom or coaching centre ask which of the two to buy first, and the usual answer, do both, ignores that one costs nearly four times the other. Every price, timeline and band below is from those two pages and the pricing page as read on 13 October 2026. The ratios, the per-lead arithmetic and the order we recommend are ours and marked as ours.
What does each one cost a single-location business per month?
| Line | Local SEO: Local Presence | Google Ads: Launch |
|---|---|---|
| Management fee | Rs.15,000 a month, 1 location | Rs.25,000 a month |
| Fee with 18 percent GST | Rs.17,700 | Rs.29,500 |
| Ad budget | None; Google Ads and Local Services Ads are listed as not included | Rs.30,000 minimum, up to Rs.1,50,000, billed by Google to you |
| Smallest month before GST | Rs.15,000 | Rs.55,000 |
| Smallest month with GST on the fee | Rs.17,700 | Rs.59,500 |
| Competitive consumer category | Same Rs.15,000; the page gives 3 to 6 months instead of 4 to 8 weeks | Rs.50,000 or more of media, so Rs.75,000 or more before GST |
| First 12 months at the floor, GST on fees | Rs.2,12,400 | Rs.7,14,000 |
At the floor Google Ads costs 3.7 times local SEO each month before GST, and 5 times in the categories the ads page names as competitive: real estate, education, insurance and clinics. At the floor the management fee is 45 percent of the ads outlay, which our Google Ads management cost guide works through as fee dilution. One consequence is simple: a business whose whole monthly marketing budget is Rs.15,000 to Rs.50,000 cannot start managed Google Ads on our pages at all, while it can start local SEO.
What does each one deliver in the first month?
| Area | Local SEO: Local Presence | Google Ads: Launch |
|---|---|---|
| Audit | Profile and citation audit within 5 working days, in writing whether or not you proceed | Account review or keyword and budget forecast in 3 to 5 working days, cost per lead target in writing |
| Setup | Every profile field fixed in the first 10 working days; ownership moved to your Google account | GA4, Tag Manager and offline conversion import verified before any spend |
| Ongoing work | 8 profile posts and 5 new citations a month; photo and service updates | Search and Performance Max campaigns, 200 to 500 negative keywords, 15 headlines and 4 descriptions per ad group |
| Response | Every review answered within 48 hours | Weekly optimisation with a dated change log |
| Report | Monthly map-pack grid report with calls, direction requests and website clicks | Monthly report on spend, conversions, cost per lead and impression share |
The two plans do different jobs. Local SEO works on the free map result that appears when someone nearby searches for what you do. Google Ads buys the paid result above it, query by query. Neither page sells the other inside its plan, so running both means two retainers.
How soon does each one produce calls or leads?
| When | Local SEO | Google Ads |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1 to 5 | Written audit | Audit and forecast |
| Weeks 1 to 2 | Profile fixed inside 10 working days; review flow at the counter on higher tiers only | Tracking verified, campaigns live within 7 to 10 working days |
| First week live | Posts, photos and citations start | First leads usually arrive, the page says |
| Weeks 3 to 4 | Citations and posts accumulate | Learning phase of 2 to 3 weeks; bid changes held |
| Weeks 4 to 8 | First map-pack movement in an uncontested locality | Judge the account at 6 to 8 weeks on cost per lead and lead quality |
| Months 3 to 6 | Competitive metro categories such as dentists and gyms move | Budget steps proposed once cost per lead holds for 4 weeks |
Speed is the one clear advantage ads hold. A new branch opening in three weeks, or an offer that ends this month, cannot wait for the map pack. A business that is already taking calls from Maps and wants more of them usually can.
What does a Rs.30,000 ad budget buy a local business?
The Google Ads page gives local service searches a typical click cost of Rs.10 to Rs.40 and illustrates cost per lead with a 5 percent landing page conversion rate. Applied to the Rs.30,000 floor, that is the arithmetic below. It is the page's illustration carried through, not a forecast for your category.
| Cost per click | Clicks | Leads at 5 percent | Media cost per lead | Per lead with the Rs.25,000 fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rs.10 | 3,000 | 150 | Rs.200 | Rs.367 |
| Rs.20 | 1,500 | 75 | Rs.400 | Rs.733 |
| Rs.40 | 750 | About 37 | Rs.800 | Rs.1,467 |
Two things follow. At Rs.40 clicks the floor budget clears the 30 conversions a month the page says Smart Bidding needs only if the landing page converts at 4 percent or better, which is why the page reviews the landing page before agreeing a cost per lead target. And the local SEO page publishes no lead forecast at all; its report counts calls, direction requests and website clicks from the profile after the fact. For scale only, the Rs.15,000 local SEO fee equals the media cost of 375 to 1,500 local-service clicks at the same band.
What is left when you stop paying for each one?
| Asset | Local SEO after you stop | Google Ads after you stop |
|---|---|---|
| Accounts | Profile owned by a Google account in your name | Ads account, GA4 property and Tag Manager container in your name |
| Work already done | Reviews, citations, location pages and every report stay | Campaign structure, negatives and conversion history stay |
| Enquiries | The profile keeps appearing; activity and rank can slide without posts and replies | Paid clicks stop the day the budget stops |
| Notice | Month to month, 15 days notice | Month to month; remove our access and the account keeps working |
This is the asymmetry that decides the order for most single-location businesses. Five citations a month build toward the 30 to 50 the local SEO page says most businesses need, and those listings do not disappear when the retainer ends. Ad spend buys clicks that end with the budget.
Which should a single-location business start with?
| Situation | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Customers search nearby; locality not heavily contested | Local SEO | Movement typically in 4 to 8 weeks for Rs.15,000 a month, no media |
| Enquiries needed within a month: opening, launch, seasonal offer | Google Ads | Live within 7 to 10 working days, first leads usually in week one |
| Competitive metro category: dentist, gym, real estate | Local SEO now, ads if Rs.75,000 a month is affordable | The map pack takes 3 to 6 months; the ads page sets a Rs.50,000 media floor for these categories |
| Total budget under Rs.55,000 a month | Local SEO | Managed Google Ads cannot start below Rs.55,000 on our pages |
| Service-area business with no shopfront | Local SEO | The page lists the service area by localities or pin codes with the address hidden |
| Profile suspended | Fix the profile; ads can run meanwhile | Reinstatement comes before any map-pack clock starts |
Running both from the first month costs Rs.15,000 plus Rs.25,000 plus Rs.30,000, so Rs.70,000 before GST and Rs.77,200 with GST on the two fees. The sequence we suggest to most single-location owners is local SEO for the first two months, which covers the 4 to 8 week window, then ads once the profile is clean and the map-pack report shows which searches still need buying. If the profile is already strong, our guide to adding Meta ads when you already rank on Google Maps covers the other paid channel, and the Local Presence month laid out week by week shows what the Rs.15,000 buys in practice.
Where do the two pages leave gaps?
- The local SEO page gives two reinstatement times for a suspended profile: 2 to 6 weeks in its map-pack answer and 1 to 4 weeks in its suspension answer. Plan on the longer one.
- The 5 percent conversion rate on the Google Ads page is an illustration of the arithmetic, not a promised rate.
- Neither page forecasts calls from the map pack, so there is no published local SEO cost per lead to compare with the ads table above.
- The ad budget is billed by Google to your own billing profile, so any tax on media spend appears on Google's invoice, not on our fee.
For a written answer on your own business, the free audit returns a plan and a fixed price within two working days, and the local businesses page shows how we combine these services for clinics, salons, gyms and home services.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run Google Ads through Mediaverse Digital on a Rs.15,000 monthly budget?
No. The Google Ads page sets the Launch fee at Rs.25,000 a month and the minimum ad budget at Rs.30,000, so the smallest managed month is Rs.55,000 before GST. Below roughly Rs.1,000 a day, the page says a Search campaign in a metro rarely collects the 30 conversions a month Smart Bidding needs. Rs.15,000 does buy the full Local Presence plan for one location, which is why it is the usual starting point at that budget.
Do I still need local SEO if I already run Google Ads?
Usually yes for a business with a shopfront or service area. Ads buy the paid result for each click, while the map pack is the free result below it, ranked on relevance, distance and prominence. The local SEO plan works on the profile, reviews and citations that decide prominence, and those stay in your name if you stop. At Rs.15,000 a month it is about 27 percent of the cheapest Google Ads month on our pages.
Is local SEO cheaper than Google Ads per lead?
Nobody can say from the published figures alone. The Google Ads page illustrates Rs.10 to Rs.40 local-service clicks at a 5 percent conversion rate, which on a Rs.30,000 budget works out to about Rs.367 to Rs.1,467 per lead including the Rs.25,000 fee. The local SEO page publishes no lead forecast; its monthly report counts calls, direction requests and website clicks after they happen. Compare the two on your own report after 8 weeks.
How long does local SEO take compared with Google Ads?
Google Ads goes live within 7 to 10 working days and the page says first leads usually arrive in the first week, with the account judged at 6 to 8 weeks. Local SEO fixes the profile within 10 working days, and first map-pack movement typically shows in 4 to 8 weeks in an uncontested locality, or 3 to 6 months for competitive categories such as dentists, gyms and real estate in a metro.
Should a single-branch clinic start with local SEO or Google Ads?
Local SEO first, unless the clinic can fund Rs.75,000 a month. The Google Ads page names clinics among competitive categories that need Rs.50,000 or more of ad budget, on top of the Rs.25,000 fee. In a metro, the local SEO page expects 3 to 6 months for competitive categories, so starting the Rs.15,000 plan early shortens the wait. Both pages also state that clinic campaigns follow Indian medical advertising norms.
What happens to my Google Business Profile and Ads account if I stop paying?
Both stay yours. The local SEO page says the profile is owned by a Google account in your name and that you keep the reviews, citations, location pages and every report, on 15 days notice. The Google Ads page says the account, GA4 property and Tag Manager container are created in your name, so removing our access leaves everything working. The difference is that paid clicks stop when the ad budget stops.
